  Which wouldn’t have been the worst thing, at least for me. I didn’t think I’d ever adjust to people screaming my name while flashes went off all around me. I still wasn’t sure why I was newsworthy, but since Harris and I had gone public with our relationship, cameras trailed me wherever I went. And I knew things would be particularly bad on that red carpet as soon as one of the paparazzi spotted the enormous diamond on my left hand.

  Harris was worth it, but the publicity wasn’t something that I ever would have chosen for myself.

  In the limo, he pulled me into a passionate kiss. He distracted me enough that I didn’t realize that we’d arrived until the driver was opening the door.

  “Are you ready, soon-to-be Mrs. Richmond?” he asked with a grin.

  “As ready as I’m going to be,” I said. I took a deep breath and stepped into the blinding lights with the man who was my happily-ever-after.
